Menopause is the time in a woman’s life when her body undergoes various changes due largely in part to the progression of age. Menopause is often referred to as “the change” because of the dramatic changes it can have on a woman’s life.

Early menopause symptoms are often present in women whose bodies are just beginning to enter the earliest stages of this change. This generally happens to a woman beginning at the approximate age of somewhere in the early 40’s but can begin as late as the mid to late 50’s or beyond. One factor the body uses to determine what age menopause begins is the age that the woman first began having menstrual cycles.

Although there are many symptoms associated with menopause different women may exhibit different variations of these symptoms. Some of these symptoms may also be linked to other illnesses or conditions as well so some of these symptoms might not necessarily mean a woman has going through this change. In addition to the possibility of different women experiencing different symptoms of menopause it is also possible that different women may experience these symptoms in varying degrees. For example while one woman may have drastic mood swings or severe night sweats another woman may only exhibit mild variations of the same symptom. This is largely dependent on the particular woman in question.

menopauseThere are many early menopause symptoms that a woman is likely to experience at various stages of menopause but the early stages in most often when these symptoms are most common. The various signs or symptoms that may indicate that a woman’s body has begun the natural process of changing are usually made known by the presence of these symptoms. The most common of these symptoms may include night sweats, mood swings, irritability, fatigue, hot flashes, various aches, pains and cramps, headaches, changes in monthly menstrual cycle including changes in PMS or premenstrual syndrome, yeast infection, water retention, vaginal dryness, depression and loss of interest in sexual relations as well as notable changes in sleep patterns.

Hormones work to allow a woman’s body to release eggs each month. This process is called ovulation. When menopause begins it can cause a woman’s regular cycle to become irregular thus making her cycle begin early or in some cases making it later than usual. This can also happen as a result of improper diet. As a woman goes through this change her monthly cycle becomes less and less regular and the end result will be the eventual end of a woman’s monthly cycles altogether. In some cases these monthly cycles are stopped at even earlier ages due to certain illnesses and conditions of the female organs such as some cancers and infections.

When a woman begins to notice early menopause symptoms it is often evident by the woman’s age what these symptoms mean however if the woman is younger than the age of 40 this may be indicative of other problems and should be brought to the attention of a health care professional.
