Even women suffering from food allergy or obesity are also kept away from many nutrition, hence such women should consume good amount of vitamins.
The best method is to consume sufficient amount of vitamins one month before you try to conceive, thus during pregnancy you are body is occupied with required vitamins. Your body will already be loaded with vitamins during pregnancy and hence avoid delivery complication. Folic acid is the one of important vitamins your body needs during pregnancy period. Generally, very few natural source of folic acid are available in food and thus folic acid cannot be easily gained through food. No doubt that folic acid is an essential vitamin as sufficient amount of folic acid will prevent you from certain type birth defects known as neural tube defects.
Medical researchers have found that sufficient amount of folic acid will lower down the chance of delivering baby with neural tube defects. You diet before pregnancy should consist of 600mcg folic acid. Thus, supply your body with this required vitamin before conceiving. The women who have previously faced delivery with neural tube defects are asked to consume higher dose of folic acid in their next pregnancy.
You also need adequate amount of iron during your pregnancy. In the days of pregnancy, the volume of blood increase in women thus makes difficult for your body to receive iron. Your body needs double amount of iron during pregnancy. You need approximately 27 mg of iron everyday. The intake of iron in the prenatal pregnancy might cause women to suffer from constipation and digestive troubles. If such condition remains persistent then consult with your doctors. Your body might not require so much iron and thus show up adverse affects. Remember to keep away prenatal supplement from your children as; mistakenly consumption of these supplements will be dangerous for their health. Even intake of sufficient amount of vitamin C will help your body in absorbing the required iron.
Our body also requires good amount of calcium during pregnancy. It helps in proper growth and development of bones, thus keep your baby healthy and strong. Your body requires at least 1000 mg of calcium everyday. Even essential fatty acids are important to keep you healthy during pregnancy.

You do not mention Vitamin A. It is really important that pregnant women take a multivitamin that excludes vitamin A as it can cause birth defects if taken in excess – and a normal diet plus supplement may be too much.
